BORN OUT OF A PASSION FOR AFRICA...

Under the notably passionate care of Heine Engelbrecht and John Gilbert, Tuli Tours Africa was born, designed to offer an immersive experience into Africa as it was 500 years ago.

Having jointly hosted a series of International inbound motorcycle tour groups in 2022, in collaboration with Bret Tkacs of MotoTrek International, it soon became apparent that Heine and John’s combined passion for, wildlife, motorcycles, travel, and adventure are the basis of a winning formula that underpin every aspect of the Tuli Tours Africa experience.

With the peace of mind that you are in safe and capable hands, client satisfaction, value for money, safety and unique exclusive adventure experiences are the core values we strive to deliver on for every tour.

HEINE ENGELBRECHT

Perhaps even more notable than his experience and qualifications, Heine’s open, warm and friendly demeaner is something guests always make particular reference to. You are truly safe in this man’s care and can expect hospitality and professionalism on a world class level. One would be hard pressed to find someone with stronger credentials.

JOHN GILBERT

John hales from a family whose history is steeped in a long heritage of travel and tourism. John’s father was the marketing manager of Southern Sun, reporting directly to the legendary Sol Kerzner in its early inception, and pioneered tourism to the Seychelle’s.

John continued the family tradition by founding Tuli-Adventures (now rebranded to Tuli Tours Africa) and has been running motorcycle tours to Botswana from Johannesburg since 2016. He has visited the country more than forty times in that time period. In that same year he completed a solo navigation of the perimeter of South Africa in just nine days on an adventure motorcycle.

John has been riding motorcycles for over 30 years and has a wealth of global corporate expertise, as well as vast travel and tourism experience, including having experienced Gorilla tracking at Five Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, to internationally renowned Safari resorts such as Shamwari, Londolozi, Mala Mala, Sabi Sabi and Kanana Okavango Delta. This has afforded him a fantastic frame of reference to draw on when designing tailor made itineraries.

MOTORCYCLE TOURS

The exclusive 7-day, 6-night motorcycle exploration of the Land of Giants – Tuli Wilderness…

This incredible expedition, which takes place over an 7 days and 6 nights, is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is the Safari adventure of a lifetime…

ON A MOTORCYCLE!

The Tuli Motorcycle Tour departs from Johannesburg. The route takes us up through the meandering roads of the scenic Waterberg, merging onto the lightly technical gravel roads, onto the path to the Botswana border post, and lastly up to Tuli Wilderness. This allows for both seasoned adventure tourer and lightly travelled adventurer to put to full use the capabilities of their motorcycles.

Tuli Wilderness is our base for the trip and finds itself located near the Platjan border crossing. The route is carefully charted to provide maximum enjoyment for all types of adventure motorcyclists; providing opportunities to experience various terrains that both intrigue and test riders from novice to intermediate levels.

Groups are limited to 10 motorcycles so as to limit the impact we have on the indigenous surroundings of the Tuli ecosystem.

This allows for an intimate tour of the renowned Tuli Wilderness and offers the unique opportunity to view a vast array of wildlife from the back of your motorcycle.
